Maria Manton was born in Blidah, in Algeria in 1900. She met Nallard in 1941.
She created intricately-worked compositions generally in monochrome matt layers of paint. Simple, vivid and clear-cut, but not rigid.
Manton has exhibited in many countries and in Paris, in the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles.
