Joop Vreugdenhil was born in 1904 in The Hague.
He studied at the Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague, and was a student of Henk Meijer.
In The Hague he worked as a visual designer and painter. He made lithografies, drawings and paintings in the abstract style. The subjects of his work are nudes, figurines and still lifes. Vreugdenhil traveled to France on a number of occasions.
He was a member of the Pulchri Studio, and the Posthoorngroep from 1956 to 1962.
His work can be found in the Rijkscollection.
Joop Vreugdenhil died in The Hague in 1996.
